CSR Compliance & Opportunities

CSR consists of two levels: 'Compliance', which requires for corporations to adhere to basic CSR principles and 'Opportunities', which refers to CSR activities that create business opportunities. Such opportunities can be created when corporations proactively engage in activities that contribute to sustainable development and at the same time create value on the economic bottom line. 





Some corporations may address CSR as risk management or compliance only. However, in the long term corporations will not be awarded or recognised for adequate CSR compliance. 

On the other hand, corporations that skip compliance and decide to work only with Corporate Social Opportunities (CSO) may face considerable reputational risks. Branding or promoting the corporation, while failing to meet basic responsibilities is an open invitation for criticism. Therefore, we recommend working with CSR and CSO concurrently.
