What is an international Principles-Based Approach to CSR?
An international principles-based apporach to CSR is based on the UN Global Compact's 10 internationally acknowledged principles on human rights, including core labour rights, the environment and anti-corruption.
As opposed to a stakeholder based approach or an issues based approach to CSR this approach ensures that corporations contribute to sustainable development. Moreover, this approach does not depend on the current 'CSR fashion,' changing media focus, or issues campaigns. In addition, this approach also exempts corporations of the ordeal of reconciling a wide array of stakeholder views.
GLOBAL CSR bases its services on an international principles-based approach to CSR.
