Advising the Danish Export Credit Agency on CSR

Tasks: The founder of GLOBAL CSR served as expert advisor to the Business Leaders Initiative on Human Rights (BLIHR). The initiative chaired by Mary Robinson awarded GLOBAL CSR the task of developing a set of minimum requirements on internationally recognised human rights in order to create a universal level playing field amongst corporations. The ‘translation’ of the rights in the International Bill of Human Rights was negotiated and tested by the fourteen global corporations participating in BLIHR and was made public in April 2009 as “Business Essential Steps on Human Rights” GLOBAL CSR continues as expert advisor to the Global Business Initiative on Human Rights, which is committed to implementing the essential steps and operate in most regions of the world.

Developing a Ghana Business Code and Local CSR Certification system

Client: Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Tasks: Team Leader of a project initiated by the Danish Development Agency, DANIDA, which was involved in the development of the Ghana Business Code Clearing House. The Ghana Business Code is a list of prescriptions based on the 10 principles from the UN Global Compact relating to human rights, including labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption. It is the first code ever formulated to apply to all segments of a national business community.
